At Caro Mio Italian Ristorante, great food begins with family, tradition, and a passion for hospitality. Since opening in 2000, we have proudly served homemade Italian cuisine inspired by recipes passed down through generations. What started as a neighborhood restaurant has grown into a beloved Chicago dining destination where guests can enjoy authentic flavors in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Owner Elio's culinary journey was shaped by his multicultural upbringing in Venezuela and Ecuador, guided by his Italian mother and Spanish father. His mother's belief that 'you can go anywhere in the world if you know how to cook' became the foundation of Caro Mio. Today, those same family values can be found in every dish we prepare, from classic pasta favorites to hearty Italian specialties made with care and attention to detail.
Now located in Lincoln Square, Caro Mio continues the traditions that guests have loved for more than two decades. We remain a cozy BYOB restaurant with no corkage fee, offering the same menu, the same dedicated staff, and the same commitment to making every guest feel at home.
